Owen Fitzsimons 
 

  

 

Owen began studying herbal medicine at the age of 19 in Dublin, Ireland. After several years of studying in Ireland, in 2010 Owen moved to London to study at the University of Westminster, in the BSc Herbal Medicine programme.

 

During his studies, Owen has completed over 500 hours of clinical training, consulting with patients and observing practitioners. Owen has also completed hours at Whipps Cross Hospital Dermatology Department.

 

 

Owen graduated in 2014 with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science. During his studies at Westminster he was awarded with several acadamic awards;

 

• Neal's Yard Remedies Award for the best Herbal Materia Medica Level 5 grade - 2012/13

• The Nutri Centre @ Tesco Prize in recognition of outstanding achievement - 2013/14

• Phyto Products Award for Pharmacology - 2014

 

 

Following University Owen has worked in private practice supporting patients with a wide range of conditions and ailments.

Owen is fully insured and a member of the professional body, the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (CPP) who in turn are members of the European Herbal & Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (EHTPA). Membership of the EHTPA allows a CPP member to use the HerbMark logo. This collective mark indicates that a herbalist is fully qualified, trained via an accredited institution and meets professional practice standards.

Since 2014, after graduating, Owen has also worked at the University of Westminster demonstrating Clinical Skills and medical physical examination methods to final year students in the Clinical Skills module.
